Private concept demo of a pediatrician-informed developmental and literacy screening workflow for ages 4–9. Kids think they're playing a game with an owl. You get an early, structured read on the sound-skills that predict reading.
This private demo shows how a developmental/literacy screening workflow could be presented as a story-based child experience. The child plays; the tools do the measuring; the pediatrician gets a clear picture — all without the white-coat anxiety of a clipboard test.
Echo the Owl guides each child through bite-size games — popping sounds, racing down Rhyme River, reading through the Word Woods. Most quests take a few minutes and feel nothing like a test.
Behind the play, each quest measures a research-backed building block of reading — accuracy, speed, and working memory — and displays a sample age-banded score for demo purposes only.
Scores flow straight to the physician console — scorecards, a sample risk-style dashboard, and plain-language flags — so a conversation about support can start early, not after a child falls behind.
Reading is built on sound long before it's built on letters. SoundWiseRx screens the five early signals that research links most strongly to later reading and to dyslexia risk.
Hearing and playing with the sounds inside words — like blending /m/–/a/–/p/ into “map.”
Naming familiar colors, objects, and letters quickly — a strong early predictor of reading fluency.
Knowing which sound a letter makes — and which letter makes a sound. The bridge to decoding.
Sounding out real and made-up words. Nonsense words reveal true decoding, not memorized sight words.
Holding sounds in mind and playing them back — repeating a sequence the owl hoots out loud.
SoundWiseRx focuses the literacy and dyslexia battery; six developmental domains exist in the broader SoundWiseRx framework, but this demo focuses on the sound-skills that predict reading.
SoundWiseRx was created by founder Dr. Gunduz and built on the research that links early sound-skills to later reading — grounded in pediatric practice, not gamified guesswork.
A child's play stays between the family and their care team. Results are scoped to the child and shared only with the pediatric office screening them — designed for a HIPAA-adjacent, access-logged path to a real backend.
We believe the future of education is proactive. Screening early means a hard conversation can happen years before a struggle does — when support works best.
This is a screen, not a diagnosis. SoundWiseRx flags developmental and dyslexia risk to help families and pediatricians decide when to look closer. It does not diagnose dyslexia or any condition, and it does not replace a full evaluation by a qualified professional. Always discuss results with your child's clinician.
“A child shouldn't have to fall behind before we notice. Play is how kids show us what they can do — so we let them play, and we listen.”
